July 14th-15th Sparring Clinic and Big Sky State Games

The Big Sky State Games Taekwondo and Judo competition is set for Saturday, July 15th and is an MTA sanctioned competition.  Master Corbin will also be conducting a sparring clinic on Friday afternoon, July 14th from 2PM to 4 PM at the MAAB dojo, 528 Lake Elmo Dr. in Billings.  Clinic fees will be given to Adrianne Neibaur to help defray at least a small amount of her medical expenses.  $25 is the basic fee, but more can be donated if a participant wishes.  Master Cady will be Chief Taekwondo referee.

General/Admission

Admission for spectators will be charged $5/adult and $2/student. For individuals who sign up after July 11, Opening Ceremonies ticket will be at the Information/Will Call booth at Daylis Stadium the night of Opening Ceremonies.

Divisions for Taekwondo

All divisions will be determined the day of the event based on age, size and belt rank. 10-year-old and under divisions may be mixed boys and girls.

Awards

Medals awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each competition division.

TaeKwonDo Sparring Clinic

The emphasis of this clinic will be to enhance your competitive strategy, technical prowess, stances, movements for your attack and defense. This clinic will also specifically cover the benefits and difficulties when competing both as a taller fighter and a shorter fighter.

Clinician Information – Master James Corbin is based out of Missoula and owns Championship Taekwondo. He has many years of competition experience including training with Pan Am and World Champions. He has garnered medals in both, Poomse and Sparring at major tournaments including: 4X Winter National Champion, National Poomse Champion 2004, Silver Medalist-2006 International Open TKD Tournament, Multiple Montana State sparring Championships and was a Silver Medalist at the 2013 AAU National Championships.
