Dear Colleagues, Instructors, Coaches, Athletes, and Parents:
Please join us on Saturday, April 13, 2019 for the annual Great Falls Invitational Taekwondo Tournament (GFIT) AND the 2019 State Hanmadang Championship. The GFIT will be held in the morning with events in Singles Sparring and Tag Team Sparring. 13 Hanmadang Events will comprise the afternoon (Forms and Board-Breaking).
The tournament will be held at the C.M. Russell High School Fieldhouse 228 17th Avenue NW, Great Falls, MT 59404. A 3- 4 person round-robin format will be used for Olympic style Individual Sparring. Single Elimination will be used for the 2-3 person Tag-Team Sparring. MTA rules will be used for individual sparring and individual traditional forms. The National Hanmadang rules will be used for all other Forms and Board Breaking events. Please go to www.usopenTKD.com for more information on the Hanmadang events and rules.

The Big Sky State Games Taekwondo and Judo competition, July 21, 2018 is only a few weeks away, so we wanted to give you this update.
We are excited to announce, this year the Taekwondo competition is again, a fully accredited Montana Taekwondo event, including MTA computers, scoring systems, and those who work as judges and referees will receive a work credit.
Master Brice Cady is the Chief Referee and the 2018 MTA rules will be posted on the State Games website this week. The Big Sky State Games is an entirely volunteer event and the MTA will be supporting it with their superb entourage that includes talent, technology, knowledge and professionalism. Again, Referees, Judges and Table volunteers will receive MTA credit by working the event. Forms, sparring, board breaking (blue belt and above) and team poomse. We will have a team sparring exhibition for any competitor who is interested.
Please register as a competitor or volunteer online at http://www.bigskygames.org and receive your free BSSG shirt for early registration. We already have athlete commitments from Casper, Williston, Powell, Cody, Sheridan, Kalispell, Missoula, Livingston, Bozeman, Salt Lake City and Billings. This will be an excellent opportunity for a friendly summer competition.

Russell High School Fieldhouse 228 17th Avenue NW, Great Falls, MT 59404. (The same venue as years past). The events for this year’s tournament will be: Individual and Team Traditional Forms, Individual and Team Creative Forms, Individual Sparring, Tag Team Sparring, and 4 Board Breaking events. We will be using the National Hanmadang rules for the Forms and Board Breaking events. A round-robin format will be used for Olympic style Individual Sparring. Single Elimination will be used for the Tag-Team Sparring event.
