March 2009 MTA
Board of Directors Voting Results
The Montana Taekwondo Association is comprised of one
delegate (director) from each of the MTA's member clubs (12 as of today) and
the MTA's Athlete, Coach, and Referee Representatives (directors). The MTA
Board of Directors, as a group, sets the course and priorities for the MTA
(the MTA Executive Committee is tasked with the day-to-day management of the
organization and seeing to it that the priorities set by the MTA Board of
Directors are achieved). Each director casts a single vote on important
matters discussed by, and brought before the Board. The MTA Board of
Directors meets in person at least once (but generally more than once) each
year. In order to best serve the Montana Taekwondo community, the Board also
discusses and acts on matters of importance to the MTA using telephonic and
Internet technologies.
Three important measures were put up for a vote before
the Montana Taekwondo Association Board of Directors this month. The
measures were as follows:
-
Confirm Steve Rosbarsky as MTA
President-Elect for the current biennium (January 1, 2009 to December
31, 2010)
-
Confirm Brandon Saltz as MTA
Secretary-Treasurer for the current biennium (January 1, 2009 to
December 31, 2010)
-
Approve changing the MTA bylaws to
allow all members to vote for the MTA Athlete, Coach, and Referee
representatives (these representatives serve as voting members of the
MTA Board of Directors). Previously, votes were cast by “affiliation”
with athlete members voting for the Athlete Representative, coaches
voting for the Coach representative, and referees voting for the Referee
Representative.
10 of the current 14 members of the MTA
Board of Directors responded by the deadline. Of those 10 ballots cast, all
three measures passed unanimously; therefore, (1) Steve Rosbarsky has been
confirmed as MTA President-Elect for the current biennium and will assume
the office of MTA President on January 1, 2011, (2) Brandon Saltz has been
confirmed as MTA Secretary-Treasurer for the current biennium, and (3) the
MTA bylaws have been changed to allow the overall membership to elect the
MTA's Athlete, Coach, and Referee Representatives rather than by membership
"type" or "voting affiliation."
